Frequently asked questions

Clear answers about how ACT 2 works, the treatments we offer, safety and sourcing, and what to expect.

See if you're eligibleA short, confidential assessment. Reviewed by a clinician.

Getting started & how it works

  • ACT 2 is a premium, clinician-led membership for adults in their second act. We focus on metabolic health, hormone optimization, and peptide therapy — measuring your biomarkers first, then building a plan around your body and adjusting it over time. See how it works.

  • Four steps: start a short online assessment, have a licensed clinician review your case, receive a personalized plan built around your biomarkers, and get your treatment delivered to your door with ongoing support. It's membership-led care, not one-off services.

  • No. The process is 100% online with no video calls required. You complete a confidential questionnaire, and a clinician reviews your case on your schedule.

  • Just a few questions — most people finish in under a few minutes. Start the assessment.

  • Adults — both men and women — in their 40s, 50s, and beyond who want measurable, clinician-guided support for energy, weight, hormones, recovery, and healthy aging. Explore For Women or For Men.

  • Eligibility is determined by a clinician based on your assessment and health history. The quickest way to find out is to see if you're eligible — there's no obligation.

  • Yes. Assessment, clinician review, and ongoing support are fully online, and prescriptions ship to your door.

Peptide therapy

  • Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signals in the body — directing processes like tissue repair, growth-hormone release, and metabolism. Learn more in What Are Peptides?.

  • It depends on the peptide and the goal. Some, like GLP-1 medications, are well-studied; others are popular ahead of the evidence. We give you an honest, evidence-led read rather than promises. See peptides: hype vs. evidence.

  • Safety depends on the specific peptide, the source, the dose, and the oversight. We only consider peptide therapy for eligible patients under clinical evaluation and monitoring, with quality-controlled sourcing. Read Are Peptides Safe?.

  • It varies by peptide. Some are FDA-approved, some are prepared by licensed compounding pharmacies under a prescription, and some are not approved for human use. We work within applicable regulations. See Are Peptides Legal?.

  • Our catalog includes growth-hormone-supporting peptides (Sermorelin, CJC-1295/Ipamorelin), recovery peptides (BPC-157, the Wolverine and Glow stacks), GHK-Cu, PT-141, and GLP-1 peptide medications. Browse Peptide Therapy.

  • Depending on the peptide, as a subcutaneous injection, oral capsule, or oral dissolving tablet. A clinician helps you choose. See injectable vs. oral peptides.

Hormone therapy

  • Restoring key hormones toward healthy, evidence-based ranges based on your labs — to support energy, sleep, mood, strength, and metabolism. Explore Hormone Optimization.

  • For eligible men, TRT helps support energy, strength, body composition, and drive when testosterone has declined. We offer oral options and monitor closely. See Men's testosterone therapy.

  • Estrogen and progesterone therapy (including estradiol and progesterone) and, where appropriate, testosterone — to help manage perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms. See Women's hormone therapy.

  • For eligible patients under proper clinical monitoring, hormone therapy is a well-established option. Safety comes from the oversight — baseline labs, careful dosing, and regular follow-up.

  • Yes. Women produce and rely on testosterone, and it often declines in perimenopause, affecting energy, strength, and libido. Where appropriate, it may be considered alongside estrogen and progesterone.

  • You don't have to guess — we start with comprehensive lab panels and a symptom history, which show whether hormones are driving how you feel.

Weight loss & GLP-1s

  • GLP-1 receptor agonists like semaglutide and tirzepatide work with your body's appetite and blood-sugar signaling to reduce hunger and support fat loss, alongside nutrition and strength work. Explore Medical Weight Loss.

  • Semaglutide acts on the GLP-1 pathway; tirzepatide acts on two pathways (GLP-1 and GIP) and has shown greater average weight loss in studies for many patients. The right choice is individual. See GLP-1s explained.

  • Some muscle loss can occur with any significant weight loss. Our protocols protect lean mass through protein, resistance training, and monitoring — because preserving muscle in midlife matters.

  • The most common are gastrointestinal, such as nausea, and they often ease with careful dose titration under clinical guidance.

  • Not necessarily. Your protocol is reviewed and adjusted over time, and some members taper as habits and biomarkers improve. It's decided together, based on your data.

  • Yes — we offer semaglutide and tirzepatide as both injections and oral capsules, so you can choose with your clinician.

NAD+ & longevity

  • NAD+ is a coenzyme central to cellular energy production that declines with age. NAD+ therapy is explored to support energy and cellular health. Explore NAD+ Therapy.

  • Interest is high, but robust long-term human evidence for many benefits is still limited. We consider it for eligible patients with realistic expectations, as a complement within a broader plan. See NAD+ explained.

  • As an injection, nasal spray, or oral tablet — a clinician helps you choose based on preference and your plan.

Sexual wellness

  • Discreet, clinician-led care for libido and intimacy — including PT-141 and hormone-based options for both men and women, addressed at the root. Explore Sexual Wellness.

  • PT-141 is a peptide explored to support libido by acting on nervous-system pathways associated with desire — a different mechanism from blood-flow-focused options. It may be considered for eligible men and women. See PT-141 explained.

  • Yes. The assessment is confidential and clinician-led, and we treat the topic with respect throughout.

Treatments, prescriptions & sourcing

  • From licensed, quality-controlled compounding pharmacies, prescribed for you by a clinician — not unverified online products. Sourcing is one of the most important safety factors, and we take it seriously.

  • It depends on the specific treatment. Some are FDA-approved medications; others are compounded under a prescription within applicable regulations. Your clinician will explain what applies to your plan.

  • Your dose is a clinical decision, calibrated to your labs, goals, and response — and adjusted over time. We never use a one-size protocol.

  • Your prescription ships directly to your door, with ongoing support and adjustments as part of your membership.

  • Yes. Your plan is reviewed and adjusted over time based on how you respond — that ongoing tuning is central to how membership-led care works.

Safety, labs & monitoring

  • Yes. We measure first — baseline lab panels and a health history establish whether a treatment is appropriate and tailor it safely. Learn about lab testing.

  • Through follow-ups and repeat labs on a defined cadence, so a clinician can confirm the plan is working and safe, and adjust as needed.

  • Eligibility depends on your individual health history. Some conditions and medications call for caution or rule out certain treatments — which is exactly why a clinical assessment comes first. Always disclose your full history.

  • Contact your care team. Monitoring and high-touch support mean side effects are addressed early, with dose adjustments or a change of course where needed.
